The Santa Cruz Yacht Club’s annual Lighted Boat Parade kicks off its 30th holiday season at 5:30 p.m., Saturday at the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor.

The entire Santa Cruz County community is invited to join the free celebration, for young and old alike. The theme for this year’s parade is Moonlit Starry Night. The parade route will circle the harbor channel in a counter-clockwise direction from the Murray Street Bridge to the Walton Light House and back and can be viewed from both side of the harbor channel between the bridge and the harbor mouth.

In celebration of the 30th milestone celebration, local boaters are planning colorful lighting displays to compete for the best of the harbor. Guest judges will award prizes in six categories: Power Boats (small and large), Sailboats (small and large), as well as stationary boats in harbor slips and dry storage.
